Carolina on my mind...

Well it's almost been a week since we've returned from our vacation and I've yet to do a re-cap! It was so jam packed with family and fun that I don't even know where to start! Maybe I'll begin by saying things did not begin on the right foot, I realized almost as soon as we arrived at the airport that I had left my makeup, curling iron, and (yes I am going to admit this) my baby blanket, affectionately named Blonkie Dog at home. There may have been a few teeny tiny tears but I sucked it up and acted like a real "big girl" and boarded the plane knowing that luckily for me I buy drugstore makeup so it could be easily replaced along with the curling iron and well... at 28 years old maybe just maybe I was grown up enough to travel without my security blanket??? Needless to say the outlook was less than sunny. After a super smooth flight though we landed in Greensboro NC and vacation had begun!

Granny's yard...the home of many a mud pie in my younger days.

I was so happy that my mom and dad were able to come down from NY for a few days and spend some quality time with us and the grandparents. We spent lots of time enjoying the heat...( Mr. Jones and I are a bit deprived of it here in Northern CA) eating granny's delicious cooking, doing some antiquing in Old Greensboro and just relishing in all of the family attention!

Hot summer days call for a cold Coca Cola.

Beautiful Bonnie! love you mommy!

Granny & Paw Paw with Mom, Dad, Mr. Jones and my brother Nick!

We had a pretty good laugh that Mr. Jones had brought along some "britches" that needed stitching, Granny was right on it! Granny's are the best.

My mom, aunt and I spent an afternoon perusing Old Greensboro's antique stores. Wish I had brought extra luggage we saw so many pretty little things!

Mommy and Aunt Terry!

On the hunt!

Isn't she lovely....

I also discovered that I am a perfect shot with the BB gun. This city girl felt super country. Ha!

Look at that stance. Dying laughing. This is soo not me.

We loved our time at Granny & Paw Paw's house and as always it never feels like enough time! Next up we were off to spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa! That re-cap to come next! I'm already ready to start planning next years trip! Miss my family so much! Hope you all are enjoying a lovely weekend full of family, friends and love!

Until next time.. xoxo- Miss V.

  2. This post made me miss my family!! I am dying to learn to sew myself (simply bc I can't rely on my mom/g'ma to sew things for me!) I may see if I can take a class now that I'm in SF!
