Not only is Sweet Melissa one of my favorite Allman Brothers songs, (I'm a product of the South ... what can I say) but.....one of my dearest, loveliest, bestest friends...really is Sweet Melissa...

Sweet Melissa...

We spent last night celebrating her birthday with friends...and a few cupcakes.. ;)

I've been friends with Melissa since the dorm days at SDSU, we lived in our first apt. together, rushed the same Sorority, lived in the house together as roommates, and lived together at the beach house...her and her boyfriend still live in San Diego, so the fact that I actually got to spend her birthday with her this year was very special...her sweet boyfriend planned a trip to San Francisco as a birthday present...swoon..they spent yesterday biking across the Golden Gate bridge and then spent the evening relaxing with friends over dinner and sweets.

This photo cracks me up, Tina, my forever friend was also in the dorms with me, rushed AXO and lived with me all throughout college, she is definitely the mother hen of our little foursome (we were missing Hillary last night, the other member of our little College crew) In typical fashion Melissa has burnt herself and Tina is taking care of the cupcakes and candles while Melissa has a mini freak out...

You might also notice the lovely photo collage...a gift from Lane and the source of a lot of laughs...and reminiscing about college.

I'm so lucky to have such good friends from all the stages in my life, I can't wait to continue the love today and tonight when Roomie and Mark get here for the BIG engagement party extravaganza!! And on that note ... here is a little sneak peak of a few of the d.i.y projects I did for the big bash!
